Linseed and Rapeseed fi rm up; Sesame and

Groundnut ease

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week under review.
Linseed oil fi rmed up by almost 5%, while Rapeseed and Cottonseed oils
moved up in the range of around 3.0-3.5%. Sunfl ower oil was up marginally.
Castor oil was down by almost a percent. Groundnut oil fell by over
2.50%, while Sesame oil was down by about 4%. Among imported oils,
RBD palmolein was up by over 2.50%, crude Palm gained about 6% and
crude degummed Soyabean moved up by around 5%. In solvent extracted
oils, Soyabean was up by over 3.50%, while Rice brans moved up in the
range of around 6-7%. Neem oil remained unmoved. Comparing the prices
of some of the oils over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper by
3%. Rapeseed is up by 36%, while linseed is costlier by 42% and sunflower
is up by 50%. Sesame is cheaper marginally and castor is up by 10%, while
cottonseed is costlier by 45%.
