Vegetable Oil Market

Sunfl ower and Linseed lead the gains

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Groundnut and Rapeseed oils moved up in the range of
around 3.5%, while Cottonseed oil was up over 2%. Castor oil was
marginally down. Sunfl ower and Linseed oils were up over 6% each.
Sesame oil remained steady. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein,
crude Palm and crude degummed Soyabean gained over 4% each.
In solvent extracted oils, Soyabean was up by about 6%, while
Rice bran (RG-I) remained unmoved along with Neem oil, Rice bran
(RG-II) was up by about 5%. Comparing the prices of some of the oils
over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper by 3%. Rapeseed
is up by 35%, while linseed is costlier by 47% and sunfl ower is up by
61%. Sesame is up by 2% and castor is up by 9%, while cottonseed
is costlier by 48%.
