Groundnut moves up; Rapeseed, Linseed and Castor

move down

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week under review.
Groundnut oil was up by over 2%, while Rapeseed and Linseed oils were
down by 2.78 and 3.19% respectively. Castor oil was down by over 2%.
Cottonseed oil was down by 0.56%. Sesame oil remained steady along with
Sunfl ower oil. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein was down by 0.61%.
Crude degummed Soyabean was up by 0.56%. Crude palm remained
unmoved. In solvent extracted oils, Soyabean was up by almost 0.58%, while
Rice brans RG-I and RG-II were down by over 2% each. Comparing the
prices of some of the oils over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper
marginally and sunfl ower is down by 38%. Rapeseed is down by 27% and
linseed is cheaper by 34%. Sesame is costlier by 7%. Castor is cheaper by 18%,
while cottonseed is cheaper by 33%.
