Vegetable Oil Market

Linseed and Groundnut move up

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Linseed oil was up by over 4%, while Groundnut oil
gained almost 2%. Sesame and Rapeseed oils were also costlier by
over half a percent. Sunfl ower, Cottonseed and Castor oils moved
down by under a percent. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein
and crude Palm were cheaper by over a percent, while crude
degummed Soyabean gained marginally. In solvent extracted oils,
Soyabean was down by over a percent, while Rice brans and Neem
oils remained steady. Comparing the prices of some of the oils
over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper by 11% and
sunfl ower is down by 7%. Rapeseed is down by 5% and linseed is
cheaper by a percent. Sesame is cheaper by 11%. Castor is cheaper
by 7%, while cottonseed is cheaper by 4%.
