       LITHIUM ION BATTERIES
       Asahi Kasei to construct battery separator plant

       in Canada


          Asahi Kasei has announced  that
       it will construct an integrated  plant
       in  Ontario,  Canada  for  the  base  film
       manufacturing and  coating of  Hipore
       wet-process  lithium-ion battery (LIB)
       separator. In relation to this, the com-
       pany has concluded a basic agreement
       with Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and the
       two parties are currently studying joint
       investment.

       Honda is targeting 100% of global sales
       from EVs and FCVs by 2040,” said
       Mr. Manabu Ozawa, Managing Executive

       ALTERNATE FUELS FOR MOBILITY
       INEOS Inovyn to trial liquid hydrogen truck with Daimler


          INEOS Inovyn is working with
       Daimler Truck AG as they run their first
       customer  trial  fleet  of  Mercedes-Benz
       Gen GenH2 trucks in Germany. Along
       with Amazon,  Air  Products,  Holcim
       and Wiedmann  & Winz,  INEOS  will
       test a  new  liquid hydrogen-powered
       truck with its customers.

          Running from mid-2024 for a
       duration of one year, the Mercedes-Benz
       GenH2 Trucks are the first heavy duty
       liquid hydrogen trucks in Europe, able
       to carry up to 25-tonnes with a range of
