Vegetable Oil Market

Sunfl ower slips; Linseed gains

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week
under review. Linseed oil moved up by over a percent, while
Groundnut and Rapeseed oils gained marginally. Sunfl ower oil
fell by almost 5%, while Cott onseed oil was cheaper by over 2%.
Castor and Sesame oils remained steady. Among imported oils,
RBD palmolein was down by over 2%, crude Palm fell by over
7% and crude degummed Soyabean was down by 5%. In solvent
extracted oils, Soyabean and Rice brans move down by nearly 5%
each and Neem oil fell marginally. Comparing the prices of some
of the oils over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper
by 8%. Rapeseed is costlier by 21%, while linseed is costlier by
29% and sunfl ower is up by 35%. Sesame is cheaper by 3% and
castor is costlier by 15%, while cott onseed is costlier by 31%.
Neem is cheaper by a percent.
