Vegetable Oil Market

Sesame, Sunfl ower and Rapeseed move down

Downtrend prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Sesame and Sunfl ower oils moved down in the range of
1-2%, while Rapeseed, Cottonseed and Castor oils ruled lower
by under a percent. Groundnut and Linseed oils held fi rm. Among
imported oils, RBD palmolein and crude Palm were cheaper by
over 4%, while crude degummed Soyabean was down by 3.30%.
In solvent extracted oils, Soyabean slipped down by almost 4%,
while Rice brans and Neem oils were down by over a percent.
Comparing the prices of some of the oils over the same period
last year, groundnut is cheaper by 13% and sunfl ower is down by
7%. Rapeseed and linseed are cheaper by 5%. Sesame is cheaper
by 12%. Castor is cheaper by 6%, while cottonseed is cheaper by
over 3%.
