Vegetable Oil Market

Groundnut gains; Linseed, Sunfl ower move down

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Groundnut oil moved up by almost 13% while Rapeseed oil was
costlier by around 2%. Meanwhile, Linseed oil fell by 5% and Sunfl ower
oil eased down by over 3.60%. Castor oil went down by over a percent and
Sesame oil dropped marginally. Cottonseed oil remained steady. Among
imported oils, RBD palmolein was down by 1.20%. Crude Palm and
crude degummed Soyabean remained steady. In solvent extracted oils,
Soyabean remained steady, while Rice brans moved down by over 3.50%.
Comparing the prices of some of the oils over the same period last year,
groundnut is costlier by 18% and sunfl ower is down by 38%. Rapeseed
is down by 19% and linseed is cheaper by 20%. Sesame is costlier by 13%.
Castor is cheaper by 15%, while cottonseed is cheaper by 31%.
