Vegetable Oil Market

Rapeseed falls, Sesame gains

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week under
review. Rapeseed oil was down by around 4%, while Linseed
and Groundnut oils also moved down. Sesame oil was up by
about 2%. Cottonseed, Sunfl ower and Castor oils moved up in
the range 1-2%. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein was up by
almost a percent and crude Palm was down a percent while crude
degummed Soyabean eased lower by over 2%. In solvent extracted
oils, Soyabean and Rice brans were down by about a percent each.
Neem oil was up by 0.60%. Comparing the prices of some of the
oils over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper by 3%.
Rapeseed is up by 30%, while linseed is costlier by 41% and
sunfl ower is up by 52%. Sesame is up by 2% and castor is up by
11%, while cottonseed is costlier by 47%.
