       ENERGY EFFICIENT OPERATION
       Nobian partners Adven to build a new caustic soda

       facility in Netherlands


          Nobian, the base chemicals business
       spun out of Dutch fi rm, Nouryon, has an-
       nounced that its energy partner, Adven,
       has begun the construction of a new energy-
       effi cient  electric  evaporation  plant  for
       caustic soda production in Delfzijl, the
       Netherlands.

          Nobian, which has leading position in
       salt, essential chemicals and storage cav-
       erns in Europe signed the contract with
       Adven at the Chemical Park in Delfzijl.
       The plant, which will be operational by
       2027, is expected to reduce 25-ktpa tons
       of  CO  emissions, an energy saving of
