       CAPACITY BOOST
       LyondellBasell expands PP compounding in China


          LyondellBasell (LYB) has started up
       an additional production line at the Dalian
       (China) site of its  Advanced Polymer
       Solutions (APS) business for producing a
       wide range of polypropylene compounds,
       mainly supplying the automotive industry.

          As the second production line at the
       Dalian site, with an annual capacity of
       20,000 tonnes, the new line will double
       the site’s current production capacity.

          “The global automotive industry is
       experiencing rapid growth and trans-
       formation, especially in the new energy
       vehicle sector, and China has emerged as
       a significant player in this market,” said
       Mr. Torkel  Rhenman,  Executive Vice
       President-APS, LyondellBasell.

          “We see great opportunities to acce-
       lerate the growth of our business here, and
       we keep investing in this market. We will
       continue to provide best-in-class products
       and services to our customers while pro-
       moting  circularity  through collabora-
       tions and our Circulen portfolio,” added
       Mr. Rolf van Beeck, Vice President of APS-
       APAC and AfMEI, LyondellBasell.

          “The new production line marks
       Dalian site’s progress in increasing
       capacity and automatic operation, and it
       can contribute to the long-term scalable
       development,”  said Brian Jiang, Di-  compounded products at full capacity  and body panels for the automotive
       rector of Advanced Polymer Solutions  with four production lines, suppling to  industry. Currently, the  APS  business
       APAC Manufacturing  of Lyondell-  end applications including bumpers,   operates five sites in China, with a port-
       Basell. Established in 2015, the Dalian  instrument panels, interior trims, under-  folio of  PP  compounding, engineered
       site can produce 80,000  tonnes of  PP  the-hood applications or structural parts  plastics and masterbatch products.
