Rapeseed, Linseed and imported oils gain

Fairly steady trends prevailed in the market during the past
week under review. Rapeseed, Sunfl ower, Linseed and Rapeseed
oils moved up by under a precent, while Groundnut and Sesame
oils remained steady. Cottonseed oil was down by about 0.40%.
Among imported oils, RBD palmolein, crude Palm and crude
degummed Soyabean gained by around 2%. In solvent extracted
oils, Soyabean was up by about 2.50%, Rice bran (RG-I) was
up by 0.50%, while Rice bran (RG-II) and Neem oil remained
unmoved. Comparing the prices of some of the oils over the same
period last year, groundnut is cheaper by 8%. Rapeseed is costlier
by 30%, while linseed is costlier by 36% and sunfl ower is up by
50%. Sesame is cheaper by 3% and castor is costlier by 9%, while
cottonseed is costlier by 39%.
