Vegetable Oil Market

Sunfl ower, Linseed and Sesame move down

Downtrend prevailed in the market during the past week
under review. Sunfl ower, Linseed and Sesame oils were
cheaper by around 2%, even as Rapeseed, Castor and
Cottonseed oils moved down by over a percent. Groundnut
oil remained steady. Among imported oils, RBD palmolein
and crude Palm fell by over 2%, while crude degummed
Soyabean was down by over 3%. In solvent extracted oils,
Soyabean was down by 1.78%, while Rice brans were down
by over a percent. Comparing the prices of some of the oils
over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper by 7%
and sesame is cheaper by 2%. Sunfl ower, rapeseed and linseed
are cheaper by around 25%. Castor is cheaper by 18%, while
cottonseed is cheaper by 27%.
