Solvay and Huatai expand capacity for photovoltaic-
grade hydrogen peroxide in China
Solvay is further extending its leader-
ship position in the global hydrogen
peroxide market by expanding the
capacity of its Shandong Huatai Interox
Chemical site in China. Building on its
existing partnership with China’s Huatai
Chemical, the alliance will enable the
site to produce 48-ktpa of photovoltaic-
grade hydrogen peroxide by 2025.
The move is aimed at meeting
rising demand for the chemical from the
photovoltaic industry, further support-
ing the growth of the renewable energy
sector in Northern China.
