Vegetable Oil Market

Sunfl ower and Cottonseed gain; Castor down

Mixed trends prevailed in the market during the past week
under review. Sunfl ower, Linseed and Rapeseed oils move
up in the range of 1-2%, while Cottonseed oil gained almost
4%. Sesame and Groundnut oils remained steady. Castor oil
was down by almost a percent. Among imported oils, RBD
palmolein was costlier by over 5%, crude Palm was up by
over 4% and crude degummed Soyabean gained over 2%.
In solvent extracted oils, Soyabean moved up by 6.70%, while
Rice brans gained around 4%. Comparing the prices of some
of the oils over the same period last year, groundnut is cheaper
by 11% and sunfl ower is down by 4%. Rapeseed is down by
3% and linseed is cheaper by 2%. Sesame is cheaper by 10%.
Castor is cheaper by 3%, while cottonseed is cheaper by 2%.
